PowerApps: Pin App to Home Screen on Phone/Tablet

Using PowerApps, you can create apps for phones and tablets. The end user accesses these apps by downloading PowerApps from the app store. Once PowerApps is downloaded, they open the app and find the relevant PowerApp to start using it. This post will show you how to pin apps to the home screen. This way the user can go directly into the relevant PowerApp instead of opening PowerApps, finding the relevant PowerApp and then start using the app. Saving your users extra clicks is always a win.

For this demonstration, I will pin a sample app to my iPhone home screen.

1. Open PowerApps on your phone or tablet
2. Select the 3 dots to the right of the app name
3. Select Pin to Home
4. This will take you to a webpage on your phone
5. Select the Share Icon and select Add to Home Screen
6. The next screen gives you an opportunity to rename the display name of the app, you can change it or leave it as is. Then select Add
7. The App will now display directly on your home screen and not hidden in the PowerApp
